Side effects of metandienone include symptoms of masculinization like acne, increased hair growth, voice changes, and increased sexual desire, estrogenic effects like fluid retention and breast enlargement, and liver damage.^[1] The drug is an agonist of the androgen receptor (AR), the biological target of androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and has strong anabolic effects and moderate androgenic effects.^[1] It also has moderate estrogenic effects.

• Release from injection site (absorption half-life): Approximately 6 to 12 days. This is the time it takes for half of the drug to be slowly released from the muscle into the general circulation.
• Combined elimination half-life of nandrolone (after hydrolysis): Approximately 4.3 hours for the combined processes of the ester's hydrolysis and the distribution and elimination of the active nandrolone compound.
